A ridge of high pressure extending from the East of Greenland towards the South of Iceland can be seen. At the
north side of this ridge a weak surface trough can be seen. A first indication for a frontal system, but not
yet analysed by the forecaster.
24 hours later the ridge of high pressure has tilted and a frontal system is analysed over the southeast of Iceland.
This timestep is very similar to the previous, with the change that the associated low is more pronounced.
A small scale vigourous low with a frontal wave has formed. From the pattern of the isobars one can expect strong surface-winds
over the southeastern half of Iceland.
At this stage the cyclone is very mature and according to the Norwegian School the system starts to occlude already.
The cyclone has now a quite extensive scale and this is the beginning of the gradual decaying of the system. The occlusion
process is developing further.
