Mid-level clouds

In the Day Microphysics RGB, mid-level clouds depict in magenta colours. With larger droplets (compared to low level water clouds) and/or starting ice phase, the green colour beam is getting weaker. Also the blue colour beam looses intensity as cloud tops become colder. Solely the reflected short wave solar radiation (red colour beam) maintains its strength.
